WSFII

The World Summit on Free Infrastructures is an international series of grass roots free infrastructures events to take place in 2005/2006. Wsfii is a chance for pragmatists and builders of free information infrastructures of different kinds to get together, share experiences, workshop new techniques and create documentation, explore crossovers and publicise their practices.

Wsfii starts with a series of regional prepcons that are planned to gather participants, themes, issues and programme items and culminates in a larger event in India in late 2006. Entitled "Wsfii.London", the first prepcon will be a workshop week and public event to be held in London between 26th September and 2nd October 2005. A key strand of the 2005 programme will be to begin the organisation of the forthcoming prepcon series and Wsfii.2006.

This proposal provides context for Wsfii.London by describing the overall Wsfii process, the series of events which led up to it and describing the local event series that Wsfii.London is part of. It outlines a programme of travel and administrative support for bringing together key organisers of the 2006 event.
