This event has already happened
From February to March 2007, London Westside's New Media eXchange (nmx) hosted a series of groundbreaking free workshops and masterclasses titled 'Future Film', looking at how streaming, interactive environments, social networks and geolocation might effect the production, distribution and understanding of Film.
The masterclasses and workshops are all rigorously documented online for those who missed out http://nm-x.com/project/future-film
The question for the New Media eXchange now is - what next?
On the 26th June at 7pm, at Westbourne Studios, we are inviting those who attended the Future Film events as well as new faces with relevant projects to come and show what they're doing, give informal feedback to each other and to us about the Future Film sessions, and help us shape the next phase of workshops and masterclasses.
For example, Max Schleser will present his upcoming 'Mobile Mentary' project:
"The mobile-mentary research project is an experiment in cinematic communication. This neologism was created to emphasize the convergence of mobile technologies and documentary practice to the formation of a new mobile media experience. The experimental documentary/city film is exploring Japanese metropolitan centres through the lens of a mobile phone and captures a new emerging mobile phone video aesthetic, which surfaced and characterises the years 2005-2008."

If you have a presentation you'd like to give, please email saul@theps.net with a brief description and your technical requirements.
Please pass this invitation on to those you think may be interested and might have interesting opinions, or good stuff to show.
