Julies Bicycle came out of a conversation of like-minded people passionate about climate change and determined to make a difference. We wanted to understand climate change in the context of our industry as well as our own lives. We formed a not-for-profit company, appointed a board and commissioned research into the music industry's current emissions by the Environmental Change Institute, University of Oxford. On the basis of this research, complete in Autumn 2007, we are developing an action plan to reduce our emissions across the industry. We felt it was important to make the right changes in our life styles, our businesses and how we, as an industry, tackle the big issues around climate change: energy, recycling/waste, touring, etc. Led by Jazz Summers (Chairman) we're developing projects that will support change within the creative sector and help develop a climate positive economy. Global warming is a highly complex phenomenon which challenges us to re-invent ourselves and the way we live and work. If you would like to keep in touch please go to our web link and register and we will send you details of our campaign programme as we roll it out. Thanks.
